Facilitator Mindsets (Teachers As Facilitators)

Description:  You will gain an enhanced understanding of the importance of facilitation. Through a variety of learning formats, you will experience the effects of the Five Mindsets and recognize them in facilitation. You will increase your efficacy and repertoire of tools and processes to operationalize each Mindset. This two-day training is perfect for teacher leaders, administrators, and others who facilitate meetings in your district.

Audience: School or organizational leaders who facilitate meetings (i.e., Dept Meetings, Professional Learning Communities, etc.), Teacher Leaders, and Instructional Facilitators.

Description:  Conflict is inevitable, and until it's addressed, it becomes increasingly difficult to work with. Just as clouds have silver linings, conflict can bring attention to existing issues hidden in plain view. Reframing conflict as a learning opportunity can help leaders navigate tension in the workplace that often leaves them feeling unheard, undervalued, and stressed. This session touches on microaggressions, differing perceptions, and other forms of workplace conflict. Participants will leave with guiding principles, strategies, and tools to help navigate conflict.

Description:  At no time has the need for mindful adaptivity been so urgent, requiring focused, efficient and effective response to profound disruptive change. Natural tensions exist within individuals, groups and organizations when missions, identities, values, mental models and expected behaviors rapidly shift.

The polarity management framework and the underlying principles provide a practical set of resources for dealing with all polarities in life. Polarities are ongoing, chronic issues which are both unavoidable and unsolvable. Through this work, leaders can consciously use personal and group tensions, diversity and divergent thinking as resources for developing high performing cultures that promote community and productivity.

  • Complexity – a broader view of both part and whole;
  • Change – converting resistance to change into a resource for stability;
  • Conflict – developing "Both/And" thinking and "Win/Win" outcomes;
  • Diversity – acknowledging, respecting, and leveraging differences.​
